Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy

My practice is focused primarily on work with individual adults and teens.  I specialize in the following areas:

Trauma & PTSD Recovery
Anxiety
Depression
Abuse Survivor Issues
Eating Disorders
Lyme Disease & Chronic Illness
Health & Wellbeing
Life Transitions

Integrating systemic and experiential approaches, my therapeutic style emphasizes mindful awareness of the body, emotions, thoughts, and beliefs, as they influence mood, vitality for life, behavior, health, and relationships.

I am a Certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist, and this is the model that I most closely align with in my work. Despite it’s name, IFS is largely used with individuals.  IFS is rooted in systems theory and multiplicity of mind.  It’s basis suggests that each of us is made up of separate but interworking "parts" that optimally work together in harmony like an internal family, but are often found to be in conflict with each other.  In IFS therapy clients are guided to access a space within themselves where vital inner resources such as Curiosity, Calm, Compassion, and Clarity are abundant.  Learning to relate to oneself from this place leads the way to remarkable transformations!

With the restoration of a compassionate perspective what was once stuck can be freed, chaos transforms, conflicts dissolve, wounds do heal, and infinite creative potential is revealed.

I appreciate that the decision to address personal issues with a therapist is one that takes courage and some intuition.  I encourage you to take your time to choose a therapist who not only provides a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere where you feel understood, but who also offers tangible ways for you to address and resolve whatever is holding you back from living your best life – feeling connected, inspired, purposeful, happy, and at peace in a busy world.

If you are checking out the information on this site and are curious about my services, I encourage you to contact me to set up an initial session.  Our first session will be a good opportunity to assess the issues you're bringing to therapy, and to understand the ways I believe I may be able to help.  I am also happy to offer a brief phone consultation if you need more information.
